Adult
Fellowship
Trinity Uniting Church Adult Fellowship group [UCAF} came into being
in 1977 out of the very long functioning Methodist / Presbyterian
mission support fellowship groups.
Trinity UCAF group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at
7.30 pm. During winter in the past couple of years June and July
meetings have taken place in the lunch hour for comfort.
Most meetings have the presence of a guest speaker with a view to
interest to both men and women. As the name suggests meetings are
open to both men and women.
The time of fellowship and sharing together strengthens friendship
and gives encouragement.
Once a year the group have the delightful pleasure of visiting residents
at Aldersgate Aged Care home where we provide afternoon and have
a ball sharing our “talents” by entertaining.
As the aim of UCAF is to support ongoing Christian projects nationally,
Trinity’s group take part in fund raising and working to support
same.
At present the group raise money to help support northern school
chaplains, money to enable the continuing work of Frontier Services
in the McKay patrol in Queensland and to take part in supplying
clean water for a village in Zimbabwe. We work for a special annual
luncheon, have trade tables and incidental catering projects to
raise healthy donations towards these projects.

The
Trinity Pipe Organ
The pipe organ in Trinity Uniting Church was originally installed
in Paterson Street Methodist Church, in 1880. (now Pilgrim Uniting)
It was built by George Fincham & Sons Pty. Ltd, and was relocated
into its present location in 1910. The instrument has been extremely
well maintained, and since 1920 has had new stops added, major restoration
to slider windchests and motors, and the action converted to electro-pneumatic
control. It is an instrument of excellent quality, and has been
duly maintained by a congregation that still sees the role of the
pipe organ, along side more modern instruments, an integral part
of church worship. It has two manuals and full pedal board, with
26 speaking stops through 1,243 white metal and wooden pipes. The
current replacement value of the instrument is approximately $500,000.
